If you are signed-in in any of the Google service (YouTube, Gmail, Chrome, Maps), then Google automatically saves all the search you have made through google.com. Sometimes, you might want to remember those exact words that you have used to search or re-look at those other results during some previous search. In such situations, search history is a boon for remembering old and previous history.

You can view all your previous Google searches from https://history.google.com/history/ .

Here, you can also find out different searches you have done for maps, news, images, books, finance and overall on web.
Though these previous searches are only visible to you, but if you are not satisfied, you can delete them anytime. To stop storing your searched, you will have to pause it from Google account settings.
